Privacy Policy

This policy explains the limited information connected with visits to this private Polk County reference, the uses of that information, and the circumstances in which another provider may receive it. Using the service is subject to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

When a visitor enters a query in a partner-operated search tool, the tool provider receives and handles the query under its own privacy policy. Polk County Court Docket does not maintain an independent database of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

Email can be kept for the time needed to respond and maintain ordinary business records. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers receive routine technical details when a visitor loads a page:

  • The IP address assigned to the device
  • The browser and browser version in use
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and the time spent on each page
  • The referring site, when one is provided
  • Time and date information for page requests

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device that help measure how visitors use the service, including traffic patterns and page exits. Analytics providers help combine that activity into aggregate information. Browser settings can block cookies, although some features may work differently when cookies are disabled.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operate, maintain, and improve page delivery
  • Route a submitted query to the applicable partner service
  • Understand which material visitors use and where improvements may be needed
  • Diagnose and address technical problems
  • Display advertising that may be relevant to a visitor's interests

No Court-Record Data on File

Polk County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of case files or personal court-record information. It provides routing information for the Polk County Circuit Clerk, Polk County Circuit Court, and Missouri Case.net. Visitor information is not combined into consumer reports or third-party profiles, and this private resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Search boxes may be supplied by outside companies. Information entered into those tools is processed under the partner's privacy policy, not this policy. Each partner controls its own retention and disclosure practices, which are outside our control. Review the partner's policy before submitting a query.

Links to Other Websites

The service links to court-clerk pages, trial-court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal-aid organizations, and third-party search tools. A link opens another provider's service, where that provider's privacy policy controls the visit. Review that policy before providing personal information.

Some advertising partners may monitor activity across services to provide targeted advertising. That activity occurs through their systems rather than ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be received by:

  • Search partners that process a query entered through their tools
  • Analytics providers used to evaluate traffic and performance
  • Advertising networks that deliver advertising on the service
  • Law-enforcement or government bodies when disclosure is required by a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

We use customary safeguards to protect information we collect. No internet-connected system can promise complete security, however, and we cannot guarantee that a security incident will never occur.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If a minor's information has been submitted, contact us so it can be removed.

Your Data Rights

Privacy and consumer-protection law can provide additional rights depending on where a visitor lives. Court-record access in Missouri is separate from this policy: the Missouri Sunshine Law, section 610.022, provides a public-record baseline, while Missouri Court Operating Rule 2 and Court Operating Rule 4 govern judicial-record administration, electronic access, and confidentiality. At a minimum, a visitor may:

  • Request a copy of information held about the visitor
  • Seek correction of inaccurate information
  • Ask that information be deleted
  • Opt out of certain processing where applicable

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. A revised version will be posted here with a new effective date, so visitors who want current practices should review the policy periodically.

Effective date: August 29, 2026
